Revd Dr Julius Kithinji: Death and Resurrection, a View from 1 Corinthians 15
Revd Dr Julius Kithinji from ECLAS Africa presents a paper as part of our conference on New Creation.
We are deeply saddened by the death of Richard Sudworth, a valued colleague and friend of ECLAS, who led the Church of England’s national Faith and Public Life Team.
As Director of Faith and Public Life, Richard offered encouragement, insight and thoughtful engagement with our project. Over the past year, while living with cancer, he continued to be supportive of our work, and we had been looking forward to deeper collaboration. In the last few weeks, however, his health worsened. He died earlier this week, surrounded by his wife and family.
Richard was widely known and deeply respected across the Church of England and beyond for his role in interfaith relations. From 2018, he was the national lead on interfaith relations for the Church of England, for the Archbishop of Canterbury, and within Faith and Public Life.
He is remembered for his wisdom, kindness and deep sense of vocation. His contribution to the life of the Church, and to the work of dialogue and understanding, will be long remembered. He will be greatly missed.
